Company history
It all began when Harald Egel, Uwe Bärtels and Harald Schneider, three students from Germany, wrote a book about BASIC programming on ATARI ST systems. After the book (and its 5 successors) turned out to be a great success, the first monthly ATARI magazine was introduced in January 1986. Only a few months later they published the AMIGA magazine Kickstart, which also became a bestseller soon. In 1987 MAXON Computer began publishing software for ATARI and Commodore AMIGA.
In the early 90s, MAXON teamed up with the brothers Losch and launched the first CINEMA 4D version in 1993. After publishing the software only for Commodore AMIGA, MAXON released the first PC and MAC versions in 1996 and went through very good times on european and US markets.
In the year 2000, 70% share of MAXON were bought by Nemetschek, developer of an architectural CAD software.
